![]() 57 years x over 200 episodes a year… that’s going to take a little while.Īs far as the Bo story goes…. That would be Sony and/or Ken Corday.Īssuming all these old episodes even still exist (there have long been rumors of them re-using video tapes of old episodes to record new ones) it would be a huge job to convert all of them to a streaming format. NBC has never OWNED Days of Our Lives (even though it has never aired anywhere else in the US) so they don’t have control over where all the old tapes – going back to 1965 – ended up. But that’s because NBC owns SNL and Peacock is under the same corporate umbrella (Scumcast) as NBC. Peacock itself is probably capable of streaming an entire archive of the show… as evidenced by the fact that you can pull up all 47 past seasons of Saturday Night Live on the site right now. ![]() The “old episodes” thing was just a rumor, and Hell only knows where it started. Share your thoughts on knowing today is DAYS final episode on NBC and let us know if you have signed up to watch all-new episodes starting Monday on Peacock, in the comment section below. The soap opera is currently renewed through September 2023.Ĭongratulations to cast, crew and creatives for an amazing achievement on network television and now on to the next leg of Days of our Lives journey into streaming. The show was expanded from 30 to 60 minutes back on April 21, 1975. Within its history, Days of our Lives was the first soap opera to broadcast in color when it debuted on November 8, 1965. Also, the broadcast quality on streaming is better than network broadcast from transmitters, just a technical point.” On Peacock, with the lower subscription, you get four minutes of commercial time, and with the higher subscription, you get no commercial time. When speaking on the shift to Peacock, DAYS executive producer, Ken Corday told Soap Opera Digest: “You will probably be getting more show content after February of next year (the show currently has episodes filmed through February 2023) because we don’t have to limit the show to 38 minutes with 22 minutes of commercial time. This is down from its normal tier price of $4.99 a month. While NBC News Daily bows on the network, DAYS moves over Monday to Peacock where all new episodes will drop exclusively every day and very early in the morning, so you won’t have to wait later in the day for its upload.ĭAYS will be part of ‘Peacock Premium’, and though a fall promotion, you can sign up to watch for $1.99/month for new subscribers or $19.99 for an entire year. It will also be streamed simultaneously on NBC News NOW and Peacock. The hourlong program is anchored byKate Snow, Aaron Gilchrist, Vicky Nguyen and Morgan Radford. For almost 57 years, and for 14,430 episodes, the series has been a part of NBC’s afternoon line-up, and is the network’s longest-running scripted show in its history.Īs previously announced, starting on Monday, September 12th, NBC will put in its place a one-hour news program, NBC News Daily. ![]() It is a DISSERVICE to the integrity of the characters not to have Hope come back, whether played by Kristen Alfonso or not.Friday marks the final airdate of Days of our Lives run on network television. WHY HAVEN’T THEY BROUGHT HOPE BACK (with different actress) so out of character for Hope NOT to be with Ciara for the birth of the baby, not to mention Hope missing Ciara’s return to Salem after being kidnapped, and Hope missing Ciara and Ben’s wedding. I’m 70 years old, have been watching Days since high school. I like Days best when it focuses on the interpersonal relationships of the characters, with some mystery thrown in. I am happy that the demonic possessions are OVER, I very much disliked that story line. Sometimes we fans just want our favorite characters to BE HAPPY, if just for a few days. I think it was a big mistake to kill off Abigail. I was so hoping to see an episode today, Friday. ![]() ![]() I will have to watch Days on computer, start new job next week. ![]()
